ADT (Admission-Discharge-Transfer) is an inbound interface to manage patient demographics and locations. This functionality is patient-focused, allowing you to collect basic information from the patient just one time – typically through a pre-admission registration process – and have it auto-populate key fields in Centricity* Perinatal when your patient arrives.
Lab interface is one additional type of inbound interface. Results from your facility’s lab system can be imported for faster review in Centricity Perinatal, improving efficiency.
Outbound interfaces send information, such as specific clinical data required for treating your patients, typically into another healthcare enterprise IT system to foster interoperability and data sharing. Outbound implementations have grown significantly over the last few years with increasing interest in enabling an electronic health record.
GE Healthcare’s interfaces employ Health Level 7 (HL7) protocol. HL7 is a standardized protocol for exchanging healthcare information among equipment suppliers. Cooperation from both vendors is still important to ensure the data you need is delivered when and where you need it.
Centricity Clinical Gateway (CCG) is an interface engine that Centricity Perinatal use to exchange data. CCG increases flexibility and reliability of information flow and makes building connections faster and easier to support. As a result, CCG is now a requirement for any type of interfacing.
The Centricity Perinatal COLD feed interface allows customers to chart patient progress in Centricity Perinatal and then send images of the charts & forms created to an external EMR capable of displaying Postscript images without requiring that EMR to reformat the data for display. The COLD feed interface is an extension of the Scheduled Print Process (SPP) in Centricity Perinatal and supports the capabilities of that sub-system. The SPP program allows the System Manager to print collections of charts & forms on a regular basis across entire units or configure them to select specific beds and units for data output.
The Charge interface allows the user to send charge information documented in Centricity Perinatal to an external system so users do not have to manually enter this information into their billing system. This helps to eliminate manual entry of data and increase the accuracy of capturing charges.
